Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of PasteDo, a clipboard manager application for Windows (“the Software”), provided by Stefano Licari, an individual based in Italy (“we”, “us”, “our”). By downloading, installing, or using PasteDo, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Software

PasteDo is a Windows desktop application. It is offered in two tiers:

  • Free: clipboard history, search, pinning, deterministic text actions, and sensitive-content protection. Free to use indefinitely, with no obligation to purchase anything.
  • Pro: adds snippets with form-fill and AI-assisted text actions, unlocked with a one-time, lifetime license purchase. A Pro license is tied to the individual who purchased it and is not transferable or resellable.

There is no subscription. A Pro license, once purchased, does not expire and does not require recurring payment to keep working.

2. Purchases and Payment

All purchases are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd (“Paddle”), acting as Merchant of Record. Paddle handles payment processing, applicable taxes, and receipts. We never see or store your payment card details. Your contractual relationship for the purchase transaction itself is with Paddle; your license to use the Software is with us.

3. AI Features (Bring Your Own Key)

Pro includes optional AI-assisted actions (e.g. rewriting, translation). These features require you to provide your own API key for a third-party AI provider (such as OpenAI). Any use of these features is subject to that provider’s own terms, and any costs charged by that provider are your responsibility, not ours. We do not operate, bill for, or guarantee the availability of any third-party AI service.

4. What You Can and Can’t Do

You may install and use PasteDo on devices you personally use. You may not:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Software, except where applicable law expressly permits it;
  • Redistribute, resell, sublicense, or share a purchased license with others;
  • Use the Software for any unlawful purpose.

5. No Warranty

The Software is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee the Software will be error-free or uninterrupted.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Software, including loss of data. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

7. Beta Software

During the beta period, PasteDo is provided free of charge and may contain bugs or incomplete features. Beta users understand they are using pre-release software and that features, pricing, and this beta offer itself may change before the final release.

Pro features are unlocked for everyone during the beta. Snippets with form-fill and the AI-assisted actions described in section 3 are Pro features. For as long as the beta runs, they work for anyone who installs PasteDo, with no license and no payment of any kind. This is so that these features get real use before release. It is a temporary state, not a grant.

At the v1 launch they stop working without a license. When PasteDo v1 is released, the beta period ends, and those Pro features will require a purchased Pro license to keep working. Having downloaded or used the beta does not, by itself, grant you a free or permanent Pro license, and no such license is promised here or elsewhere.

What keeps working regardless. Everything in the Free tier described in section 1 — clipboard history, search, pinning, the deterministic text actions, and sensitive-content protection — remains free, with no license, no time limit, and no change in behaviour when the beta ends. Your clipboard history and your saved snippets remain yours and on your device either way; what a license controls is the ability to use the Pro features, never access to your own data.

We are stating this before you download, rather than at the moment it takes effect, so that the end of the beta is something you already knew about.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Software after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your license if you materially breach these Terms. You may stop using the Software and uninstall it at any time.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Italy, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence grant you additional rights that cannot be waived.
