Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what data PasteDo (“the Software”) and this website collect, and how they’re used. PasteDo is developed by Stefano Licari, an individual based in Italy (“we”, “us”, “our”).

We built PasteDo around a simple principle: your clipboard is yours. Here’s exactly what that means in practice.

1. Data Inside the App

  • Clipboard history is stored locally, in a database file on your own computer. It is never uploaded, synced, or transmitted anywhere by us — we don’t have servers that receive it, because none exist for this purpose.
  • Sensitive content (API keys, credit card numbers, IBANs, and similar) is detected automatically and automatically removed from your history after a short time. This runs entirely on your device.
  • Diagnostic logs, stored locally on your device, never contain clipboard content, snippet text, or API keys — only technical events (timestamps, error types) to help you troubleshoot problems yourself. These logs are never transmitted to us automatically.
  • The AI features (Pro tier, optional): if you choose to use an AI-assisted action, the specific text you’re acting on is sent directly from your device to the third-party AI provider you’ve configured (using your own API key). It does not pass through our servers, because we don’t have any that sit in that path. See that provider’s own privacy policy for how they handle it.
  • We do not collect telemetry, usage analytics, or crash reports from the application, unless a future version explicitly asks your permission first.

2. Data From This Website

  • If you sign up for beta updates or the mailing list, we collect your email address, provided voluntarily, used only to notify you about PasteDo releases and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email we send.
  • We may use basic, privacy-respecting website analytics (aggregated, no personal profiling) to understand how many people visit the site. We do not sell or share this data with advertisers.

3. Payment Data

Purchases are handled entirely by Paddle.com Market Ltd, acting as Merchant of Record. Paddle collects and processes your payment and billing information under its own privacy policy. We receive only confirmation that a purchase was made (and the license details needed to activate it) — never your full card details.

4. Your Rights

If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you have rights under GDPR (or equivalent law) including access, correction, deletion, and portability of your personal data. Since almost all PasteDo data lives locally on your own device under your own control, exercising most of these rights is as simple as deleting data yourself within the app. For anything held by us directly (such as your email on our mailing list), contact us and we’ll act on your request.

5. Data Retention

  • Clipboard and application data: stays on your device until you delete it yourself (or, for detected sensitive content, until it auto-expires).
  • Mailing list: kept until you unsubscribe or request deletion.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above.
